A Stolen Horse

Hello,
I am helping locate a little girl’s stolen horse and need your help in getting the word out. For those familiar with this case please see links below where we will have updates posted…

On August 23rd, 2008, Max was stolen from a farm in Flat Rock, IL. He was taken from a middle paddock through a cut fence at the back of the property. A halter was removed from another horse and no other horses were taken.

We have had leads from all over the country connected to prime theft suspects, auctions, etc., but Max could be anywhere… this is why we need your help.

He is a mostly white Medicine Hat paint gelding with 2 blue eyes. He has a sorrel hat and body spots in flank area and on upper left hip. He also has black spots on both sides of his muzzle on upper lip along most of his mouth so he will be easy to spot and recognize. See attached flyer for pictures and more information.

We DO NOT believe those who have Max at this time are connected with or know anything about the theft.

Here are updates and information on some of the efforts to Bring Max Home.

February 23rd marked the beginning of the 7th month since Max was stolen. The Caughren family remains positive and committed to the task of finding Max.

To Kaitlynn’s Native American ancestors, Max is a spiritual horse… He is special with his medicine hat, white coat and blue “sky-eyes or heaven-eyes”.

My knowledge of my own Native ancestry is vague and I do not begin to understand how Natives would honor or value Max… I do, however, understand how Kaitlynn values her beloved Max. He is her 4H team mate and partner. He is her friend, her buddy, her kindred spirit… They have that connection and oneness sought by horsemen throughout history. And she has the faith and commitment to bring Max home.

Wonderful people worldwide are praying for Max’s safety and return. Information on Max is being emailed and posted on the internet and in physical locations across North America. Animal communicators and others are offering their insight and support. Law enforcement officials and resources are working on this case.

We are also concentrating on groups and clubs. Of course, horse related organizations are being contacted, but we are also looking for groups outside the horse world that will get involved and help. Max could be easily recognized by anyone with or without horse knowledge or experience.

Another help would be national coverage. We have been working on this but so far have not had any positive response. Typically when the interest is high enough, the media will respond.

We are trying to advertise Max locally on things like Craigslist, Dreamhorse, Topix, etc. This is difficult for someone not in the local area and an ad will often get pulled if someone is posting several ads in different areas. Please email me if you would like to help with your local area so we know which still need covered. Please feel free to post any information on Max as well as the contact information for Keith or myself anywhere you wish. Max needs exposure and we welcome all help in this area.

You can check for updates, links and downloadable flyers and pictures at BringMaxHome.com and post this link anywhere you wish.
