Wellington, FL-Everyone remembers the incredible partnership between Lingh and Edward Gal, whether at the 2005 FEI World Cup Dressage Finals where they were second or at any of the other numerous CDIs and championship shows where they won classes and hearts worldwide. Once again fans will have the joy of watching the partnership for the first time since Lingh’s sale to Grand Prix rider Karin Reid Offield in 2006. The pair will perform at the Flyinge Stallion Show on March 13 in Sweden, and excitement is already beginning to build. This news comes on the heels of a very exciting few months for the handsome bay stallion. He was recently approved by the Swedish studbook, and his son Beau was named Reserve Champion Colt at the KWPN stallion approvals in February. “I am thrilled to have Edward ride Lingh,” says owner Karin Reid Offield, who successfully competed with Lingh in both the U.S. and Europe. “Along with all their fans, I am looking forward to watching them demonstrate the connection I know will never be lost.” For ticketing and hotel information, contact http://www.flyinge.se. Earlier this year Lingh was approved by the Swedish Warmblood Association. His outstanding results in sport along with his completion of a strict veterinary inspection and conformation evaluation resulted in his approval. Following the Flyinge Stallion Show, Lingh will attend four more stallion shows across Sweden. (The schedule can be found at http://www.lingh.nl.) Offield continues, “We are very pleased to have Lingh approved in the Swedish studbook. I have spoken with many breeders and they are excited to add his blood to their Swedish mares. Our upcoming tour of Sweden will be an excellent opportunity to meet with the Swedish breeders and learn more about their bloodlines and for them to see Lingh in person.” Although Lingh was bred on a limited basis due to his busy performance career, his young offspring are beginning to demonstrate his potential as an impactful sire. His son Beau, out of the Star mare Sweetie W by Ferro, was awarded the Reserve Champion title at the 2009 KWPN stallion approvals in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands. Over 900 young stallions began the approval process, and Beau was one of 26 youngsters to receive approval. After receiving impressive marks and comments, Beau was part of the Select Stallion sale where he sold for 195,000 euros (more than $247,000), the highest priced dressage stallion and second highest priced horse overall. Bred and registered by Jan Lamers and Mrs. Van de Goor, Beau shows the tremendous movement and excellent conformation of his father. “Beau is a wonderful example of the quality offspring that Lingh produces,” Offield says. A large collection of offspring video, as well as Lingh competition footage is being compiled on Lingh’s official website http://www.lingh.nl. On American soil, Lingh’s son Landmark VT, out of the Jorn mare Odet II, has also been earning accolades. He was the winner of the ISR/OLD Two Year Old and Younger class with an impressive 80.40% at last year’s Dressage at Devon. He also earned Reserve Champion Colt and Reserve Champion Young Horse at Dressage at Lexington. Landmark VT was bred by Virginia Tech as a result of a donated breeding by Offield. “We try to find little opportunities to give back to the industry. To have Landmark VT become so successful at such a young age is a tremendous reward,” Offield explains. “The young colt is now for sale by Virginia Tech and we are all looking forward to seeing him develop under saddle as he matures.” Lingh is not the only Offield Farm stallion earning recognition. Hexagon’s Louisville, the 2006 Grand Prix Adult Amateur USDF Horse of the Year, was well represented last season in Europe by his daughter Wonderella, out of the Rubiquil mare Hexagon’s Sinderella. Wonderella competed in the World Championships for Young Horses in Verden Germany with rider Raz Nitzani. The mare received an 8.0 for her trot, a 7.5 for her canter and an overall score of 7.38 in the 5-Year-Old Finals. “Louisville was a wonderful horse for me and for his rider in the Netherlands. I am not at all surprised that his offspring are beginning to show their talent in sport.” Louisville, by Burggraaf out of the Vesins XX mare Wenda, was part of the Dutch B Team that included Jazz and Idocus, among others. With Offield, he was invited to compete in the 2006 USEF National Freestyle Championships where he was sixth in the Grand Prix and eighth in the Grand Prix Freestyle. Both Louisville and Lingh are represented by Hassler Dressage in the United States. Bred For Success- Lingh
The Swedish Warmbloods are Bred for Success. That is their motto and by all accounts they utilize a system of judging and selecting breeding stock that is being constantly reviewed and renewed to make certain the right decisions from the panels are made. The breeders of correct young dressage and jumping horses are being encouraged to stay the course and keep breeding ! As the english speaking owner of Lingh, I found that understanding the mostly Swedish reports of the Swedish approvals very difficult, but I am hoping to report with some super translation help soon ! In the meantime, I was sent to this site. He is number #79

Lingh's SUPER colt Beau is Reserve Champion !!!
The son of Lingh, Beau, came through three tough inspections with flying colors on Saturday afternoon. The Reserve Champion Title was finally Beau’s to take home by the lucky owners of this fine animal. Beau was chosen second to the 66 listed stallions whose owners took the time and considerable effort to bring their best horse to this stage towards KWPN approval. Beau was first presented at the KWPN Hengstenkeuring 2008/2009 in December for the first round towards becoming a KWPN approved breeding stallion worthy of this prestigious title.
“Beau is an absolutely beautiful horse, I would like to have him in my stable but I am very confident this is just the beginning of Lingh’s amazing career as a successful breeding stallion. What I love about being a stallion owner, and the owner of Lingh is that I am able to share the lives of all these colts and fillies with their very proud owners. I like meeting people that are passionate and I like sharing their dreams. Beau is particularly special to me because he was born on my birthday. One day I hope to ride him.”
Lingh’s Beau was successful in making the KWPN Auction very successful. He was the highest priced dressage colt sold Saturday afternoon, For a moment the crowd expected him to win, but the lovely Bordeaux by United bred by Nelly Lisman took home the top honor

A Stolen Horse
Hello,
I am helping locate a little girl’s stolen horse and need your help in getting the word out. For those familiar with this case please see links below where we will have updates posted…
On August 23rd, 2008, Max was stolen from a farm in Flat Rock, IL. He was taken from a middle paddock through a cut fence at the back of the property. A halter was removed from another horse and no other horses were taken.
We have had leads from all over the country connected to prime theft suspects, auctions, etc., but Max could be anywhere… this is why we need your help.
He is a mostly white Medicine Hat paint gelding with 2 blue eyes. He has a sorrel hat and body spots in flank area and on upper left hip. He also has black spots on both sides of his muzzle on upper lip along most of his mouth so he will be easy to spot and recognize. See attached flyer for pictures and more information.
We DO NOT believe those who have Max at this time are connected with or know anything about the theft.
Here are updates and information on some of the efforts to Bring Max Home.
February 23rd marked the beginning of the 7th month since Max was stolen. The Caughren family remains positive and committed to the task of finding Max.
To Kaitlynn’s Native American ancestors, Max is a spiritual horse… He is special with his medicine hat, white coat and blue “sky-eyes or heaven-eyes”.
My knowledge of my own Native ancestry is vague and I do not begin to understand how Natives would honor or value Max… I do, however, understand how Kaitlynn values her beloved Max. He is her 4H team mate and partner. He is her friend, her buddy, her kindred spirit… They have that connection and oneness sought by horsemen throughout history. And she has the faith and commitment to bring Max home.
Wonderful people worldwide are praying for Max’s safety and return. Information on Max is being emailed and posted on the internet and in physical locations across North America. Animal communicators and others are offering their insight and support. Law enforcement officials and resources are working on this case.
We are also concentrating on groups and clubs. Of course, horse related organizations are being contacted, but we are also looking for groups outside the horse world that will get involved and help. Max could be easily recognized by anyone with or without horse knowledge or experience.
Another help would be national coverage. We have been working on this but so far have not had any positive response. Typically when the interest is high enough, the media will respond.
We are trying to advertise Max locally on things like Craigslist, Dreamhorse, Topix, etc. This is difficult for someone not in the local area and an ad will often get pulled if someone is posting several ads in different areas. Please email me if you would like to help with your local area so we know which still need covered. Please feel free to post any information on Max as well as the contact information for Keith or myself anywhere you wish. Max needs exposure and we welcome all help in this area.
You can check for updates, links and downloadable flyers and pictures at BringMaxHome.com and post this link anywhere you wish.
For updates from one of those investigating this case.

FROM ANOTHER NEWS RELEASE…..by Dressage Direct
One Lingh son originating from a Ferro-dam and bred by the owners of the late Grand Prix-star Ferro, Jan Lamers and his late partner Adriaan van der Goor, made the first next step and received permission to show himself in Den Bosch February 6th.
This impressive stallion cat nr 561 Beau like his French name says is really beautiful indeed. “In the Lingh-progeny that was showed, we could recognize the noble head of the father, the expressive foreleg and the elegant and uphill conformation and movements overall”, judge Wim Ernes said. He continued: “It’s a start of course. In breeding we are always looking for an improvement of the father. As long as we have Lingh, we don’t need a second Lingh, do we? There is still a long way to go before a prospect stallion finally gets approved.”

Karin Offield explains her choices: it’s time for Lingh
By Claartje van Andel dressagedirect
Lifelong horse lover American Karin Offield fell in love with Dutch stallion Lingh when she saw him win the Grand Prix class at the WC Final in Las Vegas in 2005, an event sponsored by Karin’s Offield Farms. That time the remarkable Lingh showed by Edward Gal won the Grand Prix class by beating Olympic champion Salinero and Anky van Grunsven. Few would have guessed at that time that Karin Offield would become the new owner of Lingh. But it happened. “I was and am captivated by horses and especially to Lingh”, Karin Offield simply states. She tells her Lingh-story leading to a thrilling new climax…
The very well moving and athletic Lingh is an amazing character. He’s an audience horse. He appeals to the crowd, he reacts with the crowd. He shows his emotions and ‘talks’ to other horses. But what turned out to be really special for Karin Offield, is how Lingh taught her to improve her riding. “You never can be casual in your daily ride with Lingh! There is nothing casual”, Karin summarizes. “I took my job with Lingh very seriously. In the end my American trainer Robert Dover must have said a dozen times that there wasn’t a rider in the world feeling the lectures and movements so correctly as Lingh made me feel them. And he was right! Lingh is mechanically so correct that he is amazing in one word. I have had three Grand Prix horses and experiences, but through Lingh I have experienced an amazing process and breakthrough of learning. Just by his excellence and because he is so good mentally, he made me better. As a rider I needed to learn to sit more quietly and he taught me how to do that. He made me a better person too. Horses can surely open many doors in your life. ”
Developing partnership
It was a long process that brought Karin Offield to this insight. She likes to express some details that brought her this development.
Karin says: “As riders you get up every morning with only one purpose. That’s to ride your horses better than the day before. Therefore I get to bed early, I refrain from late night parties, I go to the gym, keep on healthy food and do a fitness practice every day, just to get the best rides! I love parties and of course I didn’t stay home every night… so this was sometimes difficult for me but it worked out for me to be this serious. Sometimes when it turns out that you have a complete lack of communication with your horse you’re not too proud. Little by little you want to be proud of yourself and your horses. You just keep at it…trying, trying. “
“During the next years Florida circuit, and Lingh and I became better partners, I wanted his passage to become more like I remembered in Las Vegas. As this pictures shows I got the front end where I wanted and then still had to work on his activity behind!”, Karin says.
The first experiences with Lingh in the show arena in Florida have been described by Karin as ‘a rough start’. “It was to say a little hectic!”, Karin remembers. “Many people came to watch and there was much to comment upon, but my friends stayed by my side encouraging me and cheering me on. I did not want to let them down. It was a difficult time. “ Robert Dover was beside me every step of the way. Because we had not watched him show in Europe, we took it easy with Lingh, asking simple questions and Lingh always responded honestly. When we did run into a training problem we were successful in “figuring it out ”. because Lingh’s work ethic was so accessible to us. Robert’s years of experience gave me the confidence not to question his methods and little by little we succeeded solving any training issues.”
After a rough start in Florida, this photograph was taken later in the summer in July at the Windy Hollow Hunt Show, in Augusta, New Jersey. We were 2nd that day with a 66.66 % in the GP-B!
“During the latter part of the Florida circuit we chose to show in small neighborhood Grand Prix’s where Lingh and I worked on our partnership. In late spring, we all traveled north to North Carolina. I wasn’t ready to show in the CDI yet but we schooled in all the arena’s becoming more secure every day. I had Hexagon’s Louisville too. I was so proud riding these amazing stallions on the showgrounds and through the woods. We had many admirers. I also had Oz ( born Olaf ) by Wagenaar , my 10 year old with me and I showed him in his final Forth Level classes before moving on to the FEI classes. We had a very successful showing and since I bought him as a three year old it was a very proud moment!”
“From the Carolina’s we moved north for the summer in New Jersey. I started to compete in small shows with Lingh. We built our freestyle and practiced it at a nearby farm with Robert judging and commenting. We practiced and practiced ! Then we went on the road to New York State to Saugerties – a really wonderful competition facility. It was there that my Dutch friend BJ joined up with Offield Farms and we began to turn Lingh out in the style he was accustomed to. DUTCH !! His dutch braids, and the shiny bridle made reflective with hairspray….Lingh and I were ready to go. Confident and in partner with one another! The next big event for us was winning the Grand Prix class in Saugerties followed by mid – sixty scores in our first CDI that summer. After that we went to Devon and that was the moment and competition that all fitted in well. I will never forget those classes – all my friends and family cheering and the huge Devon crowd. Sometimes I still look on the two video’s that I have on my website. I am proud of them and I like to remember the feeling I had. My trainer Robert Dover was very proud and then encouraged me to bring Lingh back to Europe to show the European audience our new developing partnership and be able to improve and grow more. I knew I had a long way to go to become a top rider and much to learn. ..”
Ups and downs
Karin says she has got both the ups and the down with Lingh.
Once again about the ups: “The thing you can do with Lingh is to work on the very small details just because of his excellence. He really taught me to make my aids invisible. I will transport that to other horses in my life. I am very thankful for that.”
Now the downs come in. “In the spring we returned to Europe for the second time in order to train and compete again with the best rider in the world– Anky – but an injury resulting from a stable accident during the winter came in place of my new European dream. It all brought me back to the basics. I had to reschedule my ideas and plans totally and had to come up with a new plan.”
The plan that arose can be described the best as ‘Time for Lingh’. Karin: “I want to give Lingh the longer time to get fit while I spend time with my 90 year old father in the USA. For Lingh I go easier on his sport career and concentrate on his breeding future and reward him first with a new dream location and time. Time for him!”
“As the Florida circuit came to a close, 14 months after buying Lingh, we had a partner ship that was very clear to both of us. I had worked hard and the ride was mine”, Karin Offield says
Flyinge
The new dream location is Flyinge Stud in Sweden.
Karin Offield explains: “What excited me the most is finding the very best place for Lingh. To me Flyinge is exactly what a horse place can be. It’s historically founded already in the 17th century. It has all the tradition, not in horses only, also in knowledge about horses that is inherited from father to son. The stabling is impeccable. It will be a place where Lingh can be the king and where people can visit him, where Lingh will take trail rides along the rivers, and gallop on the race tracks. It’s like it all had to be. Because while I was in the Netherlands I kept on hearing about a young man riding all stallions so well and who was a working student with Anky for six years. His name is Mattias Janson. He lives very close to Flyinge and he will be the rider to exercise Lingh in the way I owe to Lingh: to give him the time to become more fit for the stallion shows to come, making him stronger and stronger.. I can’t wait for you to see Lingh at Flyinge. If I would have been a horse, I would have liked to stay there!”
Time For Lingh
Karin is too happy having received the invitation from Flyinge to bring Lingh to their Stud. Lingh will be available all over the world but have his special lucky place in Flyinge.
Karin summarizes: “I couldn’t have been more excited. He has meant so much in the sport that I am thrilled for him to stand at Flyinge. As he has taught me about riding, now Lingh will teach me about becoming a stallion owner. It will take another lifetime again, but owning him, a stallion such as he is, is a blessing. It’s in the stars whether we will show in the arena again some time. It’s his time now. I am grateful.”
Karin goes on to say, “Every rider in the world that gets up in the morning and heads to the stable finds it is a combination of tenacity, planning and circumstance that allows a person to ride eventually in the really Big Arena. For every child that is out there wanting to ride horses, I encourage the families to teach them dressage first – as it’s the foundation of a wonderful riding life ahead. I would love to see the American kids try dressage on their ponies. I also want to encourage the parents to keep their children riding even during these difficult financial times… What could be better to think about in a new year than horses……? I wouldn’t know. Let’s finish by saying Happy New Years to Everyone from Offield Farms, Lingh and Hexagon’s Louisville!”

Great news! Lingh arrived in Flyinge
For the breeding season of 2009 the Swedish National Stud, Flyinge, will include the Dutch KWPN stallion Lingh (Flemmingh – Columbus – Uppercut xx) in its breeding program. Lingh has already arrived in Flyinge.
During his performance career Lingh was one of the highest ranked dressage stallions in the world according to the official FEI rankings. He has had exceptional successes and numerous placings in international Grand Prixs with Edward Gal and his owner to date Karin Offield. The best known are the second places of Lingh and Edward Gal in the WC-Finals in Las Vegas in 2005 and in Düsseldorf 2004. Lingh has received the top score 10 for his phenomenal piaffe, passage and the transitions.
In 2005 Lingh got approved for the KWPN studbook in Holland with a Dressage index of 150.46%. He is described as an honest and trustworthy stallion with whom it is very easy to work with. Lingh is a modern dressage stallion with outstanding conformation. Lingh has a very good temperament and loves to work, he also learns extremely easy. Lingh comes from the mareline 711 which already has produced seven approved stallions. Lingh’s offspring so far appears to be very elegant, light and athletic.
Karin Offield, an international GP- rider and Lingh’s owner since 2006 tells about the first time she met this spectacular stallion:
”The first time I saw Lingh was in Las Vegas in 2005 during the World Cup Final when Edward Gal was competing with him. Wow! Once the possibility appeared that he could be for sale, Edward contacted me to see if I would be interested. And I certainly was! Already the next day I flew to Holland to try him and then days later he was mine!”
Now Karin Offield chose Flyinge because of its great reputation as a facility worldwide.
”I was visiting here in October during the Flyinge International Dressage Show CDI and I could see for myself what a fantastic accommodation it is with a lot of knowledge attached to it. To me it is very important that Lingh gets the best possible exercise and care and with Flyinge it felt like the right choice. I am also very much looking forward to the Swedish offspring of Lingh”, says Karin Offield.
”Lingh is such a nobel and light stallion that he should be an excellent combination with most types of mares”, adds Karl-Henrik Heimdahl, the new Breeding manager of Flyinge.
Soon Offieldfarms.com and Lingh.nl will become one website, stay tuned !
